Grand Island Visitors Bureau
June 11, 2013 2:16 amCompany: The Grand Island Visitors Bureau located in Grand Island, Nebraska runs visitor centers and provides literature about the state of Nebraska. The Grand Island Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) is the official destination marketing organization for Hall County, Nebraska.
Project: Branding
Challenge: The Grand Island Visitors Bureau was looking to refresh their logo. It was important that a crane-like image be a part of the logo, since the Sandhill Crane migration is one of the largest in America. They also wanted these words to be reflected in the logo: “It’s not where we have been, or even where we are from, it’s where we need to take people.”
Recommendations: Turbine recommended a logo that represented the Sandhill Crane as well as the idea of taking people places. Our goal was to represent this all in the light-hearted, fun-loving, and professional manner that the bureau requested.
Result: We created a logo, representing direction and moving forward. The logo also implicitly represents the beak of a Sandhill Crane. The coloring shows the fun and light-hearted side of the bureau, while the font represents the professionalism that they exude.
